This series is the expression of a state of mind that is at once sentimental, nostalgic and implicitly sensitive to magic, both that of time and image.

Pascale Guinet rearranges these mementos, which are at the same time the figurative presence as well as their reminder of absence, to give us the very image of memory but especially the irrevocable force of having forgotten. These images bear witness to the test of time which superimposes memories, experiences and traces, and nibbles away at their contours until they are erased in these troughs of light and saturated colours.

There remain images that allow us to believe that something analogous exists or existed in these drawings. But they are unable to fill in the impossibility of saying what was present or to give it a definite image. Between the territories of the intimate and that of photography, these images are not locked in melancholy but live through the fascination that they provoke in this ambivalence of optics and haptics.

Thus returned to their enigma, these porous surfaces will only tell us what our imagination is able to see in these weird shapes.
